I remember one time my 4th grade teacher, Miss Duffy, was talking a bunch about a Zero Tolerance policy. I looked up Zero Tolerance on wikipedia: “Zero tolerance policies forbid people in positions of authority from exercising discretion or changing punishments to fit the circumstances subjectively; they are required to impose a predetermined punishment regardless of individual culpability, extenuating circumstances, or history.” This was after the tragic Columbine shooting in Colorado where two kids shot up their high school.
